RisingHy and Sprouts Farmer's Market: A Scorching Partnership

We are proud to announce that RisingHy Hot Sauce and Sprouts Farmer's Market have teamed up in order to bring all of our products to you!

RisingHy started off as a joke. I had some bad luck while trying to brew my own beer, so a friend thought it would be funny to give me a "make your own hot sauce" kit as a joke. I have always loved spicy food, so I thought, "Why not?", took the idea and ran with it. After experimenting extensively with all of the different spices and peppers out there, I came up with our original Habanero Hot Sauce, a habanero and tomato sauce that is as rich in flavor as it is in heat.

The thing that sets us apart from every other sauce is the fact that we don't use vinegar in our sauces. Vinegar is often used in hot sauces as a preservative and can add to the heat, but I have always felt that drowning a sauce with vinegar kills its natural flavor. I set out to create a hot sauce that doesn't use vinegar, and that's what we have with RisingHy sauces.

Instead of the acidic upfront bite that is common with sauces that contain vinegar, our sauce is more of a natural heat that comes on the back end. We only use fresh ingredients that don't simply make your food hot, but enhance the overall flavor of whatever dish you put it on.

Sprouts Farmers Market will be picking up all 5 of our sauces. There is the original Habanero Hot sauce a spicy honey mustard, a habanero and garlic infused olive oil, a citrus and habanero infused salt, and the brand new GreenGo sauce made with roasted tomatillos and jalapenos.

We want you to try all of these flavors and let us know what you think of them. We believe that with dedication to quality ingredients and the goal to enhance a food's flavor instead of simply masking it, we will become your new favorite sauce and improve the flavor of all the food in your life.

We Put Our Ingredients to the Test in a Rising Hy Refrigerator Raid

RisingHy Refrigerator Raid

Today I visited my good friend, Tyler, to raid his refrigerator and show him just what you can do with my hot sauces and condiments.

We made breakfast burritos by sauteing white onions in our Habanero Olive Oil and mixing it with our Devil Salt. Next we concocted Bloody Mary's by using our green and red hot sauces, as well as our Devil Salt and Honey Mustard. We then added in pepperoncinis, V8, Worcestershire sauce, and salted the rim using an orange and our Devil Salt.

When sauteing the onions and potatoes we used a mixture of our Habanero oil and regular olive oil to cut down on the heat. If you really like your dishes spicy, then I would suggest using our oil, but otherwise it is perfect for mixing. Once the onions and potatoes were nice and golden, I poured in the eggs.

Most people overcook their eggs - it's perfectly fine for them to remain "runny" when you take them off the heat, because they will continue to cook for a few minutes afterwards.

Once the eggs were just a little runny, we took them off the heat, placed them in some Tortilla Lady tortillas, and spiced them up with our red and green sauce. A dollop of guacamole went on top, and an apple salad on the side.

We didn't hear any complaints from anyone in Tyler's Kitchen!

I would consider this RisingHy refrigerator raid a success!

RisingHy's All Natural Hot Sauce Merges with Tortilla Lady

RisingHy started out as a joke from one of my friends who decided to give me a homemade hot sauce kit. What started out as an experiment in my kitchen during my sophomore year at Northern Arizona University is now a full-fledged business producing handmade specialty sauces (all thanks to the guinea pigs in the earlier days).

RisingHy is also proud to announce that we have merged with Tortilla Lady, a local business producing handmade tortillas and gorditas for the city of Flagstaff for nearly fifteen years. Instead of letting that brand disappear, we thought it would be a good move to preserve it and merge it with my own. As a bonus of this, RisingHy now has a commercial kitchen to mass-produce our sauces, and we also feel good that we're conserving a local brand and letting it grow alongside ours.

Although we're in a bigger kitchen, all of our sauces are still handmade and even bottled and packaged by us. However, we're looking to take our brand out of Flagstaff and across the country...even across international borders.

We look forward to growing alongside Tortilla Lady. Come visit us and try our sauces - you won't regret it!
